Isocyanates Analysis - Biological Monitoring Kits
Isocyanates are one of the leading causes of occupational
asthma in the UK. As respiratory sensitisers, exposures to
isocyanates should be kept as low as reasonably practicable and
this often requires the use of respiratory protective equipment
(RPE). Biological monitoring is a simple and cost-effective
way of checking that control measures are working and being used
correctly.
More information on isocyanate testing is available on our
website.
On completion of your online order, the relevant sample kits,
packaging and paperwork will be sent to you - simply collect the
samples and return to HSE Science and Research Centre for
analysis. Please note: the name and address used in this
system will be used as the delivery address for kits and result
reports. The requestor is responsible for obtaining
informed consent from workers and for communicating the
results, observing the personal data nature of those results.
These kits are designed for use by employers and
occupational health providers, not individuals.
Only request those isocyanates in use on the day of
testing to avoid confounding from other industrial chemicals as
this can make interpretation of results much harder.
Please note that a minimum of 10mL urine is
required for this test. Do not send samples with
less than this volume rather re-sample at another
time.
We offer a comprehensive testing service outside of what is
currently available online. Please see our full
price list. To order kits for these tests, please
email
registration.sample@hse.gov.uk.
We also offer other
online tests.
