Effective collaboration is crucial to our success. We use networks and strategic partnerships, including those with industry, academia, international research institutes and co-regulators, to pool resources, share knowledge and, as a result, be more effective in our ability to improve health and safety outcomes for all.

Our collaborations include:

Centre for Workplace Health

This national centre of excellence is a collaboration between the University of Sheffield, the HSE Science and Research Centre and the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Centre hosts the largest group of occupational health specialists in the UK delivering high quality research, training and advice.


hySafe

The International Association for Hydrogen Safety facilitates networking for the further development and dissemination of knowledge, and for the coordination of research activities in the field of hydrogen safety.


AXIO

LGC's AXIO Proficiency Testing is a division of LGC Group, a leading global manufacturer and service provider of quality assurance and research tools. Participation in their Air Stacks and Emissions Proficiency Testing Scheme (AIR PT) supports a laboratory's quality system in the monitoring and measurement of air quality. AIR PT is a partnership between LGC AXIO and HSE which combines our respective, long established scientific expertise in the PT arena.

 


Lloyds Register

Discovering Safety is a programme of work funded by the Lloyds Register Foundation and delivered by HSE in conjunction with a range of partners that uses data and analytical techniques to provide new insights and data-driven approaches to improving health and safety performance globally, thereby helping to reduce injuries and fatalities from workplace activity.


National Laboratory Alliance

The National Laboratory Alliance (NLA) is a group of 10 PSREs whose purpose is to provide Business continuity and independent science and technology advice to government, including to the government's Science Advisory Group in Emergencies (SAGE).


NEBOSH3

The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) is a leading global organisation which provides health, safety and environmental qualifications. NEBOSH qualifications are highly respected by governments and employers.


NIOSH

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is part of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, established as a research agency focused on the study of worker safety and health, and empowering employers and workers to create safe and healthy workplaces.


Perosh logo

PEROSH is a network of 14 European Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) institutes. They play a key role in national affiliations to governments/authorities and health and accident insurance systems. PEROSH members coordinate and cooperate on European research and development efforts in occupational safety and health.


Thomas Ashton Institute

The Thomas Ashton Institute (TAI) is a unique strategic partnership between The University of Manchester and  HSE. It's the only cross-disciplinary institute in the country that considers future impact from the individual to the national scale and provides advice across sectors on risk management and resilience for the future.
