Work related contact dermatitis in the catering sector is the
one of the main causes of occupational ill health (especially for
staff undertaking 'wet work' i.e., in regular contact with wet food
and liquids). In this industry the number of new cases of
dermatitis each year is twice the general industry average. This
risk for dermatitis relates to frequent 'wet work' due to handling
food or washing equipment and surfaces. More advice on this
